Boeing is seeking a Mid-Level P-8 Avionics Technician to support the P-8A Site Activation. Initial assignment at NAS Jacksonville, Florida, with relocation to Canadian Forces Base Greenwood, Nova Scotia, Canada.

This is a long-term international assignment requiring visa processing and health screenings; relocation benefits provided. Candidates must be able to deploy internationally and work variable shifts.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with general aircraft mechanic techniques and processes.
  • Must be willing to deploy/travel to domestic and international locations on short notice.
  • Must be willing to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime.
  • Some positions may be rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, disassemble and modify systems by removing/replacing components.
  • Oversee assembly, disassembly or overhaul activities.
  • Configure aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment.
  • Troubleshoot pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate faults.
  • Oversee validation/testing of systems and components.
  • Document procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Inspect components and verify repairs for flight worthiness.
  • Perform safe handling of aerospace vehicles (jacking, towing, operations).
  • Work under minimal direction.

Mid-Level P-8 Avionics Technician - Canada

Company: Boeing Aerospace Operations Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking a Mid-Level Avionics Technicians to support the P-8A Site Activation Support Team starting at Naval Air Station (NAS) Jacksonville, Florida and then moving to support the P-8A Poseidon at Canadian Forces Base Greenwood, Nova Scotia, Canada.

This is a Long-Term Assignment to Canada after initial familiarization training and visa processing. Relocation/assignment benefits to the international location will be provided. Ability to meet international assignment health requirements required. If accompanied, family must also meet international assignment health requirements.

Position Responsibilities
  • Assembly, disassembly and modification of systems by removal, replacement or upgrade of aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes
  • Oversees assembly, disassembly or overhaul
  • Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment
  • Troubleshoot complex pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components
  • Oversee validation/verification testing of systems and components
  • Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results)
  • Inspect components and verify repairs for flight worthiness requirements
  • Perform tasks associated with the safe handling of an aerospace vehicle (e.g. jacking, towing, system operations)
  • Works under minimal direction
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with General Aircraft Mechanic techniques and processes
  • At the sole discretion of leadership, must be willing and able (on potentially short-notice) to deploy/travel to a variety of locations (domestic and international) and for a variety of deployment durations to meet customer needs and the statement of work.
  • Unless compelling reasons exist, failure to deploy/travel will be considered as a resignation
  • Must be willing to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime.
  • Some positions may also be rotating shifts
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • 4 years or more experience supporting a 737, AAS, INC3, and 4790 maintenance organization
  • Experience working with U. S. Navy Personnel Qualification Standard (PQS)
  • Experience supporting a maintenance organization
