Job summary

SC&A, Inc. in the Washington, DC area is seeking a mid-level Nuclear Engineer/Health Physicist to join our team.

The ideal candidate will perform environmental assessments and safety evaluations of nuclear facilities for federal/state agencies, including uranium mills and in situ recovery facilities. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 5 years of experience, experience with radiation codes such as RESRAD, MicroShield, and MILDOS, U.S.

The ideal candidate will have experience in environmental assessments and safety evaluations of nuclear facilities for federal and/or state agencies, including uranium mills, in situ uranium recovery facilities, and nuclear reactors.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience with evaluating uranium mills, in situ uranium recovery facilities, and nuclear reactors for potential environmental impacts (hydrogeological, human health and safety, air quality, etc). References of the safety and environmental evaluations previously performed will be requested.
• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and at least 5 years of experience
• Experience using various radiation codes, such as RESRAD, MicroShield, and MILDOS preferred
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance are required

While the preferred location for the candidate is the Washington, D.C. area, SC&A is a majority-remote/work from home company and qualified candidates will be considered throughout the United States.

The salary range for this position is $105,000-$130,000 DOE/DOQ.
