Job summary

SC&A, Inc. is seeking a mid-level Nuclear Engineer/Health Physicist to perform environmental assessments and safety evaluations of nuclear facilities for federal and state agencies. The role supports uranium mills, ISL facilities, and reactors, with a preference for Washington, D.C.

area but candidates nationwide are considered. Requirements include a bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience, proficiency with radiation codes (RESRAD, MicroShield, MILDOS), U.S.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating uranium mills, in situ uranium recovery facilities, and nuclear reactors for potential environmental impacts (hydrogeological, human health and safety, air quality, etc). References of the safety and environmental evaluations previously performed will be requested.
• Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a related discipline and at least 5 years of experience
• Experience using radiation codes, such as RESRAD, MicroShield, and MILDOS preferred

The ideal candidate will have experience in environmental assessments and safety evaluations of nuclear facilities for federal and/or state agencies, including uranium mills, in situ uranium recovery facilities, and nuclear reactors.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience with evaluating uranium mills, in situ uranium recovery facilities, and nuclear reactors for potential environmental impacts (hydrogeological, human health and safety, air quality, etc). References of the safety and environmental evaluations previously performed will be requested.
• Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a related discipline and at least 5 years of experience
• Experience using various radiation codes, such as RESRAD, MicroShield, and MILDOS preferred
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance are required

While the preferred location for the candidate is the Washington, D.C. area, SC&A is a majority-remote/work from home company and qualified candidates will be considered throughout the United States.

The salary range for this position is $105,000-$130,000 DOE/DOQ.
