Job summary

South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is seeking a software professional to gather requirements, design and develop C#/.NET applications, and maintain documentation and training materials. You will work with MS SQL, XML, and JavaScript to deliver secure, well-supported systems across the agency.

The role emphasizes requirements analysis, documentation, and collaboration with stakeholders, vendors, and IT peers. Domestic travel may be required; a fingerprint background check is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field and two years’ .NET experience in analysis, design, and development of major systems.
• Must have experience in detailed analysis, coding complex and secure solutions, creating documentation, and troubleshooting code.
• Strong user support and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with users, vendors, management and IT peers both verbally and in writing.
• Must have strong analytical skills and be a self-starter able to research and solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Gather requirements from stakeholders for software development and create documentation used to schedule and implement requests.
• Administer development of C# systems using .NET technologies and MS SQL, review and modify programming, testing, and deployment.
• Analyze database concepts, develop complex queries, and work with Reporting Services and views.
• Participate in meetings to share knowledge on design and program function with staff.
• Provide regular status updates to management and define development expectations for staff.
• Create user manuals, training materials, and help documentation.
