Job summary

Jobtailor in the United States is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop production and tooling methodologies and lead manufacturing planning. You will conduct producibility analyses, validate production readiness, and drive continuous improvement in processes and tooling.

The role requires 5+ years in manufacturing, experience with MESci/GOLD, and strong project management skills, with willingness to relocate and travel up to 10%. A COI assessment may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related field (including manufacturing).
  • 5+ years in a manufacturing/production environment.
  • Experience with ME processes and MES systems.
  • 3+ years with MESci and/or GOLD.
  • 1+ year in project management.
  • Willing to relocate or live nearby.

Responsibilities

Job description

Develop and implement production and tooling methodologies
Develop, identify, and implement conceptual designs and maintain program architecture for build
Lead and implement manufacturing plans
Conduct producibility and variation analyses to ensure manufacturing process capability matches requirements
Provide producibility information for project plans and document producibility best practices
Analyze design/build concepts to evaluate producible design/build definitions
Resolve technical problems affecting performance, cost, or schedule
Coordinate and implement new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies, and concepts
Validate and ensure production readiness of solutions to complex problems
Implement lean principles and technologies
Improve Manufacturing Engineering processes, tools, function, and deliverables
Manage cost, schedule, and quality of deliverables using project management skills
Document and communicate ME best practices
Deploy company Lean Enterprise analysis methods
Collaborate with engineering disciplines, suppliers, and customers
Perform root cause analysis and develop engineering-based corrective actions

Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 5+ years working in a manufacturing/production environment
  • Working knowledge of ME processes and procedures including Manufacturing Execution System Computer Aided Process Planning
  • 3+ years’ experience working with manufacturing engineering planning systems such as MESci and/or GOLD
  • 1+ years’ experience in project management
  • US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15, or required export authorization where applicable
  • Must live in the immediate area or relocate at own expense
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • Successful candidates must satisfy Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process
  • Preferred: 7+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer
  • Preferred: Strong understanding of BDS production program requirements, standards, and specifications
  • Preferred: Proficiency in developing process plans (2D/3D) and standard operating procedures
  • Preferred: Mentoring and training experience related to ME processes
  • Preferred: Experience in assembly and fabrication environments, including electrical, structural, mechanical, systems, and functional test disciplines
  • Preferred: Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies
  • First shift availability
