Torch Technologies is seeking a Mid-Level Linux System Administrator to join our Huntsville team, supporting DoW-labeled environments. The role emphasizes Linux system hardening, automation with Ansible, and containerization using Docker/Podman and OpenShift, with strong emphasis on security and compliance.

Qualifications include 4-10 years of Linux admin experience, DoD security standards, and an active Secret clearance (Top Secret preferred).

Qualifications

• 4-10 years related Linux administration experience in classified environments.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM) and containerization (Podman/Docker).
• Must obtain DoD 8570/8140 IAT-II certification (e.g., Security+) and Linux cert (RHCSA/RHCE/Linux+).
• Active Secret clearance with potential upgrade to Top Secret.

Responsibilities

• Configure, harden, and maintain enterprise Linux systems (Rocky/RHEL) per DoD guidelines and STIGs.
• Write, test, and execute Ansible playbooks for patching and baseline provisioning.
• Deploy and troubleshoot containerized services (Podman, Docker) and OpenShift virtualization.
• Perform vulnerability scans, system auditing, and lifecycle maintenance of HWIL systems.
• Provide deep-dive technical support for Linux kernels, runtimes, and network interfaces.

Off Hours support may occasionally be required as mission dictates.Some of the primary responsibilities will include:Linux Infrastructure & Security Integration: Configure, harden, and maintain enterprise Linux systems (primarily Rocky and RHEL) in accordance with DoW guidelines, STIGs, and RMF security standards.Ansible Automation & IaC: Write, test, and execute Ansible playbooks and roles to automate operating system patching, baseline provisioning, compliance drift remediation, and routine system maintenance across the lab footprint.Containerization & Virtualization: Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot containerized application services (Podman, Docker) and virtual environments (OpenShift Virtualization, KVM, VMware) to maintain high-fidelity digital representations of physical test environments.Hardware & System Maintenance: Perform vulnerability scans, system auditing, and lifecycle maintenance.
