Overview

• McGuireWoods' Labor & Employment group is an active employer-side practice, handling upwards of 4,000 employment-related matters each year for clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to emerging businesses and nonprofits.
• The Los Angeles team focuses on Employment Litigation, Wage & Hour Class, Collective, and Representative Actions, and Labor Relations, representing domestic and international employers across diverse industries including manufacturing, logistics, aerospace, education, retail, hospitality, insurance, natural resources, and professional services.
• Associates take on meaningful responsibility early, managing discovery, preparing and arguing motions, taking depositions, and directly advising clients.
• The role involves assisting in the defense of wage and hour class actions and PAGA representative actions, including handling discovery, conducting witness interviews, and briefing class certification issues.
• Key responsibilities include defending single-plaintiff employment cases in state and federal court and arbitration, taking and defending depositions, managing discovery, and drafting dispositive motions.
• The associate will represent clients in administrative hearings and proceedings, respond to EEOC and CRD charges, and draft responses to demand letters, developing broad skill sets across class action defense, single-plaintiff litigation, administrative proceedings, and client counseling.
