Job summary

Gensler in San Francisco seeks a Mid-Level Interior Designer to craft interiors across workplace, amenities and laboratories. You will blend creativity with technical rigor, supported by a strong portfolio and leadership abilities.

This is a hands-on role with mentoring responsibilities in a collaborative, design-driven office. The successful candidate will have a design or architecture degree, 6+ years of leadership in interior projects, proficiency in Revit/3D tools, and a commitment to

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of design or architecture.
  • 6+ years of design leadership of interior design and/or architecture projects; recent workplace, education and/or healthcare project experience is required.
  • LEED accreditation or WELL AP is preferred.
  • Experience delivering highly sustainable design solutions.
  • Strong leadership, communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency in Revit and other computer design programs.
  • Must have a portfolio of workplace interior projects; portfolio should show a range of projects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform interior design assignments including space planning, conceptual design, schematic design, design development and construction documentation.
  • Perform work requiring independent judgment in evaluation, selection, and substantial modification of standard techniques.
  • Participate in selection and presentation of FF&E, color palettes, and lighting.
  • Generate design with 3D models and 3D views to communicate concepts.
  • Create interior finishes, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, and material specifications for construction.
  • Provide design support and documentation during completion and execution of concepts.
  • Work with external consultants, product reps, furniture dealers, and fabricators.
  • Guide and mentor junior designers; collaborate with other staff.
