Job summary

Akima Mission Optimization (AMO) in the United States is seeking an HR analyst to provide broad support for NSWC human resources management and to analyze and improve major HR processes. You will work with HR personnel and leadership to address organizational needs, prepare documentation, and help drive efficiency and service delivery.

The role requires experience in HR processes, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, business, management, or related field; AA/AS with 2 extra years may substitute.
  • 5 years of recent experience analyzing, managing, and improving major HR processes and functions.
  • 2+ years in a Federal Agency environment preferred.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with HR leadership and stakeholders.
  • Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Provide broad support for all aspects of NSWC human resources management.
  • Analyze and support major human resources processes, functions, and organizational requirements.
  • Evaluate existing HR processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and service delivery.
  • Support the management and continuous improvement of human resources programs and processes.
  • Research, analyze, and organize HR-related information to support organizational needs and decision-making.
  • Assist with the development, implementation, and improvement of HR processes, procedures, and organizational functions.
  • Support Federal Agency human resources requirements and organizational initiatives.
  • Coordinate with HR personnel, organizational leadership, and other stakeholders to address human resources needs.
  • Prepare and maintain HR-related documentation, reports, and other supporting materials.
  • Provide analytical and administrative support for human resources activities and organizational initiatives.
  • Work independently and collaboratively to manage assigned HR responsibilities and support organizational priorities.
  • Maintain attention to detail, confidentiality, and professionalism when handling human resources information.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in human resources, business administration, management, or another relevant field is desired. An Associate’s degree (AA/AS) and two (2) additional years of experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.
  • Five (5) years of recent experience analyzing, managing, and improving major aspects of human resources, organizational processes, and functions is desired.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a Federal Agency environment is desired.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing and improving HR processes and organizational functions.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with HR professionals, leadership, and organizational stakeholders.
  • Active Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting U.S. Government or Department of Defense human resources organizations.
  • Experience supporting Naval or NSWC organizations.
  • Experience with organizational process improvement and functional analysis.
  • Experience developing or improving HR procedures, processes, and supporting documentation.
  • Familiarity with Federal human resources policies, processes, and organizational practices.

This position is contingent upon contract award and funding. Applicants selected may be offered but cannot begin work until funding has been confirmed.
