Job summary

Akima seeks a senior management analyst to gather and evaluate information for program leaders and customers, driving improvements in efficiency and effectiveness. You will develop milestones, manage financial and acquisition documents, and provide budgeting support while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

You will analyze processes, present findings to senior leadership, and help ensure compliance with requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • An AA/AS with four additional years of related experience may substitute for the BA/BS.
  • 10+ years of professional experience supporting acquisition management is desired.
  • Experience applying analytical methods to evaluate management processes and program performance.
  • Experience developing program documentation, milestones, and financial materials.
  • Experience providing budgeting, financial analysis, acquisition, or program management support.
  • Experience conducting work measurement studies, efficiency reviews, cost studies, or workload analyses.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including complex technical documentation and presentations.
  • Ability to collaborate with program managers, customers, senior leadership, and cross-functional teams.
  • Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain/maintain Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, and evaluate information for program managers and customers.
  • Identify opportunities to improve management effectiveness and operational efficiency.

  • Develop and maintain program milestones and progress documentation.
  • Prepare and maintain program documentation including financial, acquisition, and training materials.
  • Provide budgeting and financial analysis support to project teams.
  • Conduct work measurement studies and efficiency reviews.
  • Use automated management information systems for analytics and reporting.
  • Support Command-level mission requirements and senior leadership with analytical insights.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures supporting program needs.
  • Prepare complex technical documentation, reports, and briefings.
  • Conduct reviews to evaluate processes and compliance with requirements.
  • Deliver technical presentations to leadership and customers.
  • Collaborate with managers, customers, and cross-functional teams to implement solutions.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Apply knowledge of management functions, processes, and analytical methods to gather, analyze, and evaluate information required by program and project managers and customers.
  • Analyze organizational structures, management processes, work methods, procedures, and resource requirements to identify opportunities for improving management effectiveness and operational efficiency.
  • Draw conclusions and develop practical solutions to complex management and organizational challenges.
  • Develop and maintain program and project milestones, progress monitoring documentation, and other program management materials.
  • Prepare and maintain financial, acquisition, quality control, maintenance, training, and other program or project documentation as required.
  • Provide management, budgeting, and financial analysis support to program and project teams.
  • Conduct work measurement studies, program and project operational efficiency reviews, cost studies, and workload change impact analyses.
  • Utilize automated management information systems to perform fact-finding, analytical, reporting, and advisory functions.
  • Support major Command-level mission requirements and provide analytical support to senior program and organizational leadership.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures in support of program and organizational requirements.
  • Prepare complex technical documentation, reports, briefings, and other program-related materials.
  • Conduct technical and programmatic reviews to evaluate processes, performance, and compliance with established requirements.
  • Develop and deliver technical presentations and briefings to program leadership, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with program managers, customers, and cross-functional teams to identify issues, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Business Administration, Management, or another relevant field is desired.
  • An Associate’s degree (AA/AS) and four (4) additional years of related professional experience may be substituted for the BA/BS degree.
  • 10 or more years of professional experience supporting acquisition management is desired.
  • Demonstrated experience applying analytical methods and techniques to evaluate management processes, organizational effectiveness, resource utilization, and program performance.
  • Experience developing program or project documentation, milestones, progress reports, financial documentation, or other management materials.
  • Experience providing budgeting, financial analysis, acquisition, or program management support.
  • Experience conducting work measurement studies, efficiency reviews, cost studies, or workload impact analyses.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare complex technical documentation and deliver presentations.
  • Ability to work effectively with program managers, customers, senior leadership, and cross-functional teams.
  • Active Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting U.S. Government or Department of Defense programs.
  • Experience supporting Command-level mission requirements.
  • Experience with acquisition management and related program processes.
  • Experience developing policies, procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Experience using automated management information systems for analytical, reporting, and advisory functions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting complex, multi-disciplinary programs and working directly with government customers and senior leadership.
