Job summary

Peraton in California is seeking a Mid-level Full Stack Software Engineer to contribute to secure, scalable satellite ground communications platform services, focusing on Python backend and TypeScript frontend. You will develop backend APIs, manage PostgreSQL structures, implement microservices with OAuth 2.0/JWT, and collaborate with cross-functional teams following Agile practices.

The role requires a Top-Secret clearance and ongoing security upgrades.

Qualifications

• Associate degree with 7+ years or Bachelor’s with 5+ years; or Master’s with 3+ years.
• Minimum Top-Secret clearance with ability to upgrade to TS/SCI.
• Proficiency in Python for backend development.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and SQL development.
• Experience with microservice architecture and security (OAuth 2.0/JWT).

Required Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field and 7+ years of relevant experience; OR Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5+ years of experience; OR Master’s degree in a related field and 3+ years of experience. An additional four (4) years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
• This position requires the candidate possess a minimum of Top-Secret clearance with ability to upgrade to TS/SCI. The candidate must maintain the clearance
• Proficient in Python software development for backend applications.
• Experience in PostgreSQL database design and development, including SQL queries, triggers, and stored functions.
• Experience in microservice architecture and security mechanisms such as OAuth 2.0 and JWT.
• Experience supporting frontend development using TypeScript and modern UI frameworks.
• Experience with Git‑based source control systems, including GitHub or GitLab.
• Understanding of Agile Scrum methodologies and software development practices.
