Responsibilities include:
- Inspection, testing, installation, removal, and repair of shipboard electrical cabling and electronic equipment according to NAVSEA Standard Item (NSI) 009-73 requirements.
- Installing cables, including banding, boxes, connectors, equipment, penetrations, cableway, hangers, and associated components.
- Performing MCT, MCP, Stuffing Tube opening, packing, closing, and testing.
- Bonding and Grounding of Electrical Equipment.
- Installation of modification kits, overhaul, repair, disassembly, and reassembly of electrical/electronic equipment using drawings and NSI standards.
- Initiating Work Authorization Forms (WAF).
- Interpreting and breaking down work scope from blueprints and drawings.
Qualifications:
- Three (3) years of direct experience in shipboard electronics installation and repair services.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years old and a U.S. Citizen.
Skills and Tools:
- Understanding of electrical troubleshooting, multimeters, and network testers.
- Electrical fit-up skills, including use of grinders, saws, and drills.
- Ability to lead small electronics teams.
- Personal tools such as multimeters, hand tools, connector termination tools.
Other Requirements:
- NSI 009-73 Qualified Connector Fabrication Certification required.
- NSI 009-123 Fiber Optic Handling Certification preferred.
- Ability to pass drug and background screening, obtain government facility access, and complete safety training.
- Ability to work overtime and travel as needed.
