Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. in Houston, TX seeks an Intermediate Level Electrical Engineer to design and analyze lighting systems, grounding, and life-safety concepts for commercial buildings, coordinating with multi-discipline teams.

You will lead and mentor junior engineers, perform load analyses, develop basis of design reports, and ensure energy compliance while advancing projects through design, documentation, and construction administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• PE license or ability to obtain required.
• 4–5 years in corporate electrical engineering environment.
• Strong design focus in architectural/medium voltage space.
• Proficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD.
• Experience leading and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design and perform calculations for lighting systems and controls.
• Prepare load analyses for different design stages.
• Oversee drawings detailing system design.
• Prepare basis of design reports and energy compliance documentation.
• Design grounding and lightning protection and redundant systems.
• Select equipment and fixtures for commercial buildings.
• Coordinate with engineers and architects from other disciplines.
• Facilitate construction administration.
