Vantor in Herndon, VA is seeking a Mid-Level DevSecOps / Software Development Engineer to design, code, test, and maintain software and automation tools for Cyber Security workflows.

The role emphasizes building scalable systems, developing CI/CD pipelines with GitLab, and deploying to private cloud infrastructures. Requires active TS/SCI clearance and 40-hour SCIF work in Herndon, with 3+ years in software development and 5+ years in DevSecOps.

Qualificações

• Must have an active TS/SCI clearance and be willing and able to pass a CI polygraph.
• Must be able and willing to work 40 hours per week in a SCIF in Herndon, Virginia.
• At least 3 years of industry experience in software development or software engineering.
• At least 5 years of industry experience in DevSecOps, with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or a master’s degree and at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated professional software development experience is required.
• Experience designing, writing, testing, debugging, and maintaining software using Python, Go, Java, C#, or similar.
• Experience building automation tools, APIs, or applications is central to this role.
• Strong expertise in cloud environments, including deployment, optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Proven track record in building and operating Cloud Native Applications using Kubernetes and Docker.
• In-depth experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent.
• Strong software automation skills using Python, Bash, or equivalent languages; Python or similar required.
• Excellent problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments.
• Experience applying security practices in DevSecOps pipelines (Trivy, Grype, GitLab SAST, or SonarQube).
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack.
• Strong knowledge of networking and load balancing technologies.
• Experience with Git-based collaboration workflows and CI/CD tooling.
• Experience deploying open-source and custom applications.
• Moderate Linux system administration experience.

Responsabilidades

• Build and maintain custom command-line tools, APIs, and dashboards for Cyber Security and developer workflows.
• Design, write, test, and maintain production-quality code to automate Cyber Security workflows.
• Convert manual cybersecurity, compliance, infrastructure, and developer workflows into automated software pipelines.
• Build automation for security analysis, vulnerability correlation, compliance tracking, remediation workflows, and security exceptions.
• Develop dashboards and reporting apps that aggregate data from multiple systems for visibility into security, compliance, and delivery.
• Participate in code reviews.
• Troubleshoot complex failures by analyzing code, logs, APIs, infrastructure, and system behavior.
• Deploy and manage highly available applications for reliability and scale.
• Implement and maintain Nomad and Kubernetes clusters for workload orchestration.
• Configure DNS, performance tuning for enterprise systems.
• Develop IaC solutions with Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent.
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines with GitLab or similar tools.
• Monitor systems, logs, and issues; automate security testing in DevOps workflows.
• Integrate static analysis tools into CI/CD pipelines; ensure secure software delivery.
• Assist in assembling Body of Evidence for False Positives and for software approvals.
• Maintain security remediation on DevSecOps-managed VMs (patching, STIGs).
• Maintain release product configuration management and troubleshoot network/infra issues.
