Neural Solutions in Columbia, MD is seeking an Offensive Security Operations Engineer to perform reverse engineering and software development for networked devices. You will collaborate with analysts, operators, data scientists, and engineers to support mission-focused security operations.

Offensive Security Operations Engineer

The successful candidate will perform offensive security reverse engineering and software development for network-based devices. They will work closely with analysts, operators, data scientists, and other engineers to provide mission tactical support in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Derive, document, and analyze stakeholder requirements.
• Port, modify or augment existing toolsets.
• Provide rapid prototypes for early validation and user feedback to demonstrate an understanding of mission requirements.
• Develop production-ready tools that operate within mission constraints.

Required Skills:

• Familiarity with Unix-based systems (e.g., BSD, Linux, UNIX).
• Experience with reverse engineering Linux-based network devices using Ghidra and/or IDA Pro.
• In-depth understanding of network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP) and analysis of network traffic (e.g., Wireshark).
• Ability to produce and modify software systems in C/C++/Python/Assembly.
• Support for fielded software systems.
• Familiarity with Git, Subversion, Jira, Confluence.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with reverse engineering various RTOS or MS Windows.
• Experience with RISC processors (MIPS, POWER, ARM).
• Experience in developing offensive security specific software for Linux/Windows/Embedded applications.
• Vulnerability research and exploit development experience.
• Knowledge of end-to-end signals intelligence collection and analysis systems.
• Experience with production offensive security capabilities and operations.

Salary Range: $174,000 - $207,000
