Job summary

INNOVIM seeks a Mid-Level Boundary Engineer to support the MDA on the IRES contract. Location: Schriever Space Force Base, CO Springs or Redstone Arsenal, AL. Remote work is not available.

The role requires DoD security clearance and ensures perimeter network security across edge devices and PKI infrastructure. The candidate will implement and maintain perimeter devices, configure routing and firewall systems, and collaborate with IT teams to support critical government applications.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Boundary experience required.
• Direct experience with Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW).
• Direct experience operating Web Proxys.
• Understanding of the OSI model and IP protocol stack.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain network perimeter infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers).
• Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
• Configure and maintain firewall infrastructure.
• Monitor network performance and identify edge improvements.
• Troubleshoot perimeter device issues and provide timely resolutions.
• Implement and maintain network security policies and procedures.
• Manage and maintain PKI infrastructure.
• Ensure network compliance with standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with IT teams to support applications and services.
• Document network configurations and procedures.

The Mid-Level Boundary Engineer supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract.

Location: Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO or Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL

Shift: Day Shift
Travel Required: Up to 10% of the time

The candidate will:

• Implement, and maintain network perimeter infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and other network devices.
• Configure and troubleshoot network routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
• Configure, and maintain firewall infrastructure.
• Monitor network performance and identify areas for improvement at the network edge.
• Troubleshoot network issues and provide timely resolution related to perimeter devices.
• Implement and maintain network security policies and procedures.
• Manage and maintain PKI infrastructure.
• Ensure network compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to support business applications and services.
• Document network configurations and procedures.

Basic Requirements:

• Must have 2, or more, years of Boundary experience.
• Must have direct experience with the Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW)
• Must have direct experience operating Web Proxys
• Must have working experience AND an understanding of the OSI model and IP protocol stack.
• Must have experience working with network switching and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) as they pertain to Netscalers, Cisco, Citrix, and Firepower.
• Must have a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP, etc.)
• Must have, or obtain, an active DoW Secret Security Clearance

Desired Requirements:

• Have experience in assessing and documenting test or analysis data to show cyber security compliance
• Have experience working within the National Industrial Security Procedures and Operations Manual (NISPOM)
• Be familiar with Isolated Network security best practices
• Have a current CISSP certification or DoD 8570 IAT Level III Certification
• Have a current CCNA certifiation
• Be proficient in Authorization to Operate (ATO) under the Joint (SAP) Implementation Guide (JSIG)Have experience working in a Zero Trust Environment
• Strong Organizational and multitasking abilities
• Be able to effectively communicate with customers and other team members, both orally and in writing

This position is expected to pay $115,000 – $125,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
