Job summary

Romano Law seeks a stellar attorney with 4–6 full years’ experience in employment law and a license to practice in New York. You will advise employers on day-to-day workplace issues, draft and review pleadings and contracts, and manage multiple contemporaneous projects for a growing firm.

You are conscientious, proactive, and thrive under pressure, delivering practical, plain-English guidance and high-quality results while contributing to client development and the firm’s growth.

Qualifications

• 4–6+ years of experience in employment law.
• Licensed to practice law in New York.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Head of the Employment Department.
• Manage multiple projects with learning opportunities.
• Provide innovative, solution-oriented advice based on experience.
• Maintain established standards of quality and accuracy in all work.
• Advise employers on day-to-day workplace issues with plain-English guidance.
• Draft, review, and revise demand letters, complaints, and motion papers in employment disputes.
• Assist with agency submissions, discovery requests/responses, and depositions prep.
• Draft and update contracts, handbooks, and employment-related agreements.
• Lead by example with strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Contribute to client development, marketing, and firm growth.

• A stellar attorney with at least 4-6 full years’ experience in employment law.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WOULD:

• Report to the Head of the Employment Department.


• Have varied activities including multiple, simultaneous projects that offer learning opportunities.


• Use your expertise-based problem-solving skills to offer innovative solutions.


• Be required to have a high degree of specialized expertise and skill in maintaining established standards of quality and accuracy. You believe that quality should never be compromised.


• Advise employers on day-to-day workplace issues and deliver practical, plain English advice.


• Draft, review, and revise demand letters, complaints, and motion papers in employment-related disputes.


• Assist with all substantive aspects of employment disputes, including agency submissions, drafting discovery requests and responses and preparing for depositions.


• Draft and update contracts, handbooks and other employment-related agreements and help clients implement compliant workplace practices.


• Lead by example: with your work ethic, your drive for success, and positive attitude.


• Be involved in client development, marketing and the growth of the firm.
