Who we are looking for

The AI Software Engineer contributes to building and improving software systems that support our AI initiatives. They work with other engineers to design and develop reliable, maintainable code. They help solve technical problems, improve system performance, and support day-to-day development tasks. This role involves working closely with other teams, participating in code reviews, and following coding standards and best practices. The engineer is also encouraged to stay updated on new technologies and continuously grow their technical skills to support team and project success.

What you get to do!

  • Participate in the design and architecture of scalable, reliable, high-performance software systems, with a strong emphasis on integrating generative AI and LLMs to deliver meaningful business outcomes across RBM.
  • Develop and enhance AI-enabled features and core platform functionality, ensuring the codebase remains maintainable, modular, and efficient.
  • Identify and resolve complex bugs, performance bottlenecks, and integration issues, particularly in AI pipelines and cloud-based services.
  • Participate in and lead code reviews, maintaining high standards for quality, security, and reusability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including QA, Product Management, DevOps, and domain experts, to ensure smooth and well-aligned product development and delivery.
  • Mentor junior engineers and AI practitioners, sharing expertise and fostering a culture of learning and innovation.
  • Work in alignment with The Re:Build Way.

What you bring to the team

  • 3+ years of experience developing professional software, with a firm grasp of cloud-based application development integrated with large language models (LLMs) and AI agent architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with generative AI models, including but not limited to Llama, Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, DeepSeek, Mistral, and AWS Bedrock.
  • Experience in LLM frameworks and tools such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, Haystack, or Auto-GPT.
  • Familiar with prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and vector databases like Pinecone, Weaviate, or FAISS.
  • Experience using LLM interaction platforms such as Open WebUI or similar tools.
  • Experience in backend development, particularly in C#, for creating reliable and efficient microservices.
  • Experience building and deploying applications using serverless architecture and containerized solutions on AWS (e.g., Lambda, ECS, DynamoDB, S3, API Gateway, Fargate).
  • Experience with API technologies, including REST and GraphQL.
  • Experience with SQL and RDBMS.
  • Familiarity with operating system internals, including Linux and Windows.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with peers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience mentoring junior developers and contributing to a team-focused development environment.
  • Ability to work in an agile setting and contribute to sprint planning, retrospectives, and cross-functional team efforts.
  • Knowledge of algorithms and other computer science fundamentals.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required.

Location: We are seeking a hire based in either the Pacific Time Zone or Mountain Time zone.

Travel Requirements: Quarterly travel required for all team meeting in downtown Los Angeles, CA
