Job summary

Brightway is seeking a Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain production software that powers its agent and customer experiences. You’ll work across teams to deliver reliable, scalable backend services and APIs, with a strong emphasis on AI-enabled tooling and modern cloud architectures.

Ideal candidates bring 2–5 years of production software experience, proficiency in Node.js and/or Python, and familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in CS, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent.
2–5 years of production software experience.
Experience building backend services and APIs.
Proficiency in Node.js and/or Python.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
Experience in an agile development environment.
Interest in applying AI-enabled tools to practical use cases.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain production‑grade software powering Brightway’s platform for agents, advisors, and customers.
Collaborate with cross‑functional partners to define and ship features quickly and reliably.
Write high‑quality, well‑tested code focusing on reliability, performance, and scalability.
Translate business needs into technical solutions using custom and off‑the‑shelf tools.
Debug and resolve production issues with ownership and timeliness.
Improve software quality by addressing technical debt and refining designs.
Stay current with modern development practices and AI tools for practical value.
Deliver solutions iteratively with measurable outcomes.
