Job summary

Bowhead seeks a Mid-Level Systems Engineer to join the LI2S-MC program in Stafford, VA. The role focuses on designing, developing, and managing cloud-based infrastructure and services in a hybrid environment, working with engineers, cybersecurity, logisticians, and program analysts.

Key duties include migrating core applications to the cloud, optimizing resources, and ensuring data security and compliance, with a strong emphasis on SaaS/PaaS architectures and DevSecOps automation.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical field; MA/MS preferred.
• At least six years of professional experience, with four years on high‑visibility projects.
• Experience with Navy or Marine Corps programs preferred.
• Experience designing and deploying SaaS/PaaS cloud environments.
• Experience with Oracle Fusion a plus; Oracle Visual Builder a plus.
• Ability to work independently on mission-critical program aspects.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and manage cloud-based infrastructure, applications, and services.
• Evaluate legacy applications for migration to cloud or transfer to cloud services.
• Implement and manage cloud systems for business use; collaborate with engineering teams.
• Develop fit-for-purpose user-defined views for architectural data.
• Review hybrid multi-cloud architectures; apply SaaS/PaaS integration and DevSecOps practices.
• Migrate core applications and systems to the cloud; understand DoD Cloud Provisional Authorization.
