Job summary

National Audubon Society is recruiting an Engagement Manager for the Mid-Atlantic region to empower chapters and supporters, expanding the Audubon network across PA, MD, and DC. The role emphasizes collaboration with regional staff and national partners to drive conservation campaigns and community-based actions.

You will lead capacity-building, coordinate policy-driven outreach, and mentor volunteers while aligning regional strategies with national priorities and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least five years’ relevant experience in grassroots network building, advocacy, or public policy.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to motivate volunteers and partners.
• Proven ability to communicate conservation and policy concepts to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of strategies to build capacity within the Audubon chapter network.
• Build capacity of chapters to engage with conservation programs and advocacy priorities.
• Collaborate with Policy Director to develop state policy platforms in MD and PA and mobilize chapter networks.
• Partner with national and state stakeholders to recruit, equip, and engage advocates and volunteers for conservation campaigns.
• Support college and university chapters and engage campus communities.
• Organize chapter leader meetings (in person and remote) and provide networking opportunities.
• Coordinate with communications to engage chapters and supporters via newsletters, social media, and action alerts.
• Provide updates to AMA advisory board and staff for better integration of efforts.
• Work with EDIB teams to train chapter leaders and staff; promote philanthropy and partnerships.
