Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is recruiting a Registered Nurse for the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU A&B). The RN will deliver patient-centered critical care, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, and support evidence-based practices in a Magnet® recognized environment.

The MICU handles highly acute patients with multisystem issues, offering opportunities for professional development, tuition assistance, and a structured nursing leadership program.

Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts RN license or eligibility.
• 1+ years of RN experience preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certification required in some units.
• Diploma/ASN/BSN preferred; BSN encouraged within 4 years.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in the Critical Care unit, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and education of patients.
• Communicate with health care team members, patients, and families.
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
• Update and manage patient records and interpret computerized data.
• Follow guidelines and policies of BMC’s nursing organization; participate in quality improvement.
• Support leadership in quality initiatives and patient safety projects.
