Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a Registered Nurse for the MICU, offering a 36-hour schedule with nights and rotating weekends. You will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a large trauma and safety-net hospital, supported by a strong nursing organization and opportunities for professional development.

Ideal candidates hold Massachusetts RN licensure with 1+ year experience; BLS/ACLS is required in certain units, and BSN coursework or degree is preferred with a plan to complete

Qualifications

• Must have active Massachusetts RN license or be able to obtain one.
• 1+ years of RN experience preferred.
• BLS/ACLS certification required in certain units.
• Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred); ability to obtain BSN within 4 years.
• Fluency in another language a plus.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in the Critical Care unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
• Communicate with health care team members, patients, and their families.
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
• Update and manage patient records.
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information.
• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization.
• Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects.
