Job summary

Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP seeks a Senior Microsoft Systems Engineer to ensure the reliability and security of the Manatt domain, covering Exchange Online, Active Directory, and cloud services.

You will lead deployment, monitoring, scripting with PowerShell, and support for Teams, VPN, and identity management, coordinating with IT staff to meet SLAs and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• 5++ years maintaining domain controllers.
• 5+ years’ experience in Windows Operating Systems.
• 5+ years’ experience configuring and managing MS Teams, OneDrive, and O365 applications.
• Understanding on-prem vs cloud-based server/software implementations.
• Experience with Azure AD sync and Intune for device management.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate mastery in Microsoft 365 administration.
• Handle testing, implementation, and deployment of Exchange Online.
• Manage Exchange environment using Office 365 tools.
• Implement and support security policies, such as data retention.
• Provide technical expertise on the Microsoft 365 cloud environment.
• Manage ticket queue and escalations to engineer level.
• Review, test, and optimize Microsoft 365 functionality (Outlook).

Opportunity Microsoft Systems Engineer is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, security, and reliable operation of the Manatt domain, this includes but is not limited to Exchange, Active Directory (on-prem and Azure), SPAM filtering, TEAMS, VPN, Identity management.

This role is the senior level on a team of system engineers and analysts.

Essential functions include:

• Demonstrate mastery in the administration of the Microsoft 365 environment and its capabilities.
• Handles testing, implementation, and deployment of Exchange Online.
• Managing a Query Exchange environment using the Office 365 Command online tool.
• Implement and support security policies, such as data retention.
• Provide technical expertise on the messaging environment in the Cloud (Microsoft 365).
• Manage problem resolution to a satisfactory completion by managing tickets that are escalated to the engineer level.
• Review, test, and make recommendations for functionality of Microsoft 365 including Microsoft Outlook.
• Demonstrate expertise in anti-spam filtering, logging and email tracking and transport rules.
• Administer Single Sign-On using with Multi Factor Authentication.
• Perform scripting and reporting using PowerShell.
• Develop scripts for automating/updating processes within the environment.
• Manage team performance to ensure that it meets or exceeds defined Service Level Agreements.
• Responsible for the VPN solution (Always on VPN) Perform migrations and deployments related to the building, upgrade and maintenance of MS Exchange.
• Monthly audits on the Active Directory environment to reconcile users.
• Collaborate with Local IT team to establish better process flow to mitigate incidents/tasks.
• Manage user's mobile devices through our Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions (MS Intune).
• Troubleshoot active sync issues with mobile devices.
• Troubleshoot issues with Microsoft 365 Teams.
• Create security and distribution groups in Active Directory.
• Create user guides and instructional documents for end-users.
• Manage assigned group, and file level permissions in Active Directory.
• Oversee, configure, and troubleshoot all aspects of the Enterprise Systems, to include, but not limited to Microsoft, Linux services, including Webservers, SQL databases, DHCP, DNS, Print Servers, MS O365 and applications that use these services.

Qualifications:

• 5+ maintaining domain controllers.
• 5+ years’ experience in Windows Operating Systems
• 5+ years’ experience configuring and Managing MS teams, OneDrive, and O365 applications.
• Active directory and ancillary technologies such as, DHCP, DNS, GPO, Sites and Services, Logon Scripts, etc.
• An understanding of the differences between on premise and cloud-based server / software implementations.
• Setting up and maintaining Azure AD sync.
• Using Intune (or other MDM) to manage mobile devices and endpoints.
• Configuring and administering Single Sign on and Multiple Factor Authentication systems (Okta & Azure a plus)
• Experience with email related technologies such as archiving, antispam, backups, SMTP tracking logs, etc.
• Configuring conditional access policies for Exchange On-Line, Teams, OneDrive, and O365 applications.
• Microsoft Network, Security, and Operating Systems (server and workstation installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Microsoft applications and services such as, but not limited to, DHCP, DNS, FTP, IIS, Intune, O365, SCCM, SharePoint, and SQL.
• Experience planning, implementing, and troubleshooting: MS O365Teams, Azure, Exchange Online, and TEAMS.
• Install, set up, and manage Active directory domain service.
• Understanding Azure bases PaaS and IaaS.
• Scripting experience using PowerShell.
• Provide Tier 3 support for escalated desktop issues in relation to application deployment.
• Evaluates current procedures and processes for accomplishing objectives and continuously develops and implements improved practices.
• Certifications preferred (e.g., Windows, Microsoft Endpoint Manager, SCCM / MCSE)
• Follow proper escalation, communications, and change management policies for production system problems.
