Job summary

Everforth Apex is seeking a Senior Microsoft Exchange Engineer in Dallas (Hybrid) to engineer, administer, and troubleshoot Exchange on-premises, Online, and hybrid environments. You will drive migrations, optimize security policies, and deliver documentation and knowledge transfer to sustain operational continuity.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of enterprise Exchange administration experience.
• Expertise in Exchange Server 2013/2016/2019 and Exchange Online.
• Hybrid configuration (HCW) knowledge and DAG experience.
• PowerShell scripting for automation and reporting.
• Strong mail flow, authentication, and DNS/certificate troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with RCA, Message Trace, and Service Health Dashboard.
• Knowledge of Azure AD Connect and modern authentication flows.

Role Overview

An experienced Senior Microsoft Exchange Engineer is sought to provide expert-level engineering, administration, and troubleshooting across complex Exchange on-premises, Exchange Online, and hybrid messaging environments. This role is critical for knowledge transfer, documentation, and operational continuity. The ideal candidate will function as the highest-tier technical escalation point, lead advanced incident resolution, and ensure a secure, compliant messaging architecture. This position offers a potential path to a full-time role and an opportunity to shape modernization strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain Exchange Server 2013/2016/2019 environments.
• Manage Exchange Online configuration, scaling, and service optimization.
• Support and enhance Hybrid Exchange architectures, including OAuth, hybrid mail flow, connectors, and federation.
• Lead migrations from on-prem Exchange to Exchange Online (M365) and conduct mailbox migrations, PST ingestion, and public folder migrations.
• Collaborate with the current subject matter expert for seamless knowledge transfer and document the existing environment.
• Manage and optimize Exchange Online Protection (EOP), Microsoft Defender for Office 365, and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies.
• Develop and maintain advanced PowerShell scripts for automation, reporting, and health monitoring.
• Serve as the Tier 3 escalation point for complex issues related to hybrid mail flow, authentication, and performance.

Required Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of experience administering Exchange on-premises and Exchange Online at an enterprise scale.
• Deep expertise in Exchange Server 2013/2016/2019, Exchange Online administration, and hybrid configuration (HCW).
• Proficiency in DAG architecture, SMTP routing, and transport rules.
• Expert-level PowerShell scripting capabilities for creating complex modules and automation.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for mail flow, hybrid authentication, DAG replication, and DNS/certificate issues.
• Familiarity with tools such as Exchange Remote Connectivity Analyzer (RCA), Message Trace, and the Microsoft Service Health Dashboard.
• Knowledge of Azure AD Connect, Conditional Access, and modern authentication flows.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft certifications such as MS-203 (Microsoft 365 Messaging Administrator Associate) or AZ-104 (Azure Administrator).
• Experience with third-party migration tools (e.g., Quest, BitTitan).
• Experience with mobile device management (Intune, Workspace ONE) and Teams integration with Exchange Online.

Work Arrangement

• This position follows a hybrid schedule, requiring three days onsite and allowing two days remote.
