Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking an MCM Engineer to support government activities in Sterling, VA or Annapolis Junction, MD. The role focuses on software deployment, patch management, and OS baselines using Microsoft MCM and MDT.

You will design and test deployment solutions, write PowerShell scripts, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring security requirements such as DISA STIGs and RMF are followed.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II or equivalent (Security+, SSCP, CCNA Security, etc.).
• 8+ years in IT/ Desktop Engineering or related field.
• Expert with SCCM and WSUS.
• VMware vCenter experience and AD management.
• MDT and MCM image capture and OSD experience.
• Familiarity with DISA STIGs.

Responsibilities

• Engineer solutions for software deployment, patching, configuration, IT baselines, and testing.
• Create and maintain server and workstation images with latest updates.
• Develop PowerShell scripts to automate administration tasks.
• Provide guidance to junior systems engineers.

Our work depends on a MCM Engineer joining our team to support Government activities in Annapolis Junction, MD or Sterling, VA. At GDIT, we foster a people-focused and customer-centric environment in delivering Desktop Engineering Services.

As an MCM Engineer supporting the Government, you will be a part of a team charged with engineering solutions for software deployment, patch deployment, configuration, IT baselines, importing & testing, etc. within the enterprise.

• Utilizing Microsoft MCM to provide user workstation baseline configuration and administration of operating systems
• Identifying, analyzing, and resolving system problems with both short-term workarounds and long-term solutions
• Writing PowerShell scripts to automate systems administration tasks
• Providing guidance and leadership to less-experienced systems engineers
• Utilizing MCM to provide security updates, vulnerability patches, hotfixes, and other updates to user workstations and servers
• Developing and maintaining baselines images for servers and laptops to add the latest security updates, software versions, hotfixes, patches, etc.

What You’ll Need:

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
• Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements including one of the following: Security+, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA Security.
• Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline + 8 years’ experience or the equivalent combination of education, technical certification or training, or work/military experience
• Expert level experience with SCCM and WSUS
• Solid understanding of VMware vCenter
• Functional understanding of Microsoft SQL Server and Active Directory
• Expertise in MDT and MCM (capturing images (WIM), creating packages, advertisements, task sequences, operating system deployment (OSD) and queries).
• Familiarity with DISA STIGs for Windows operating systems
• Expertise with IAVA process including RMF release process, testing, approval, and deployment processes
• Solid knowledge of Active Directory Security Groups, OUs, DNS, and GPO management

Desired Certifications:

• Microsoft Software Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) or equivalent
• Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
• Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)

The likely salary range for this position is $148,750 - $201,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
