Job summary

Avantiico is hiring a Microsoft BI (Fabric) Engineer to design and build modern analytics on Fabric and Power BI for clients, including lakehouses, warehouses, and semantic models, with notebooks and AI-enabled experiences.

This is a client-facing consulting role: you will run workshops, gather requirements, and present solutions to senior stakeholders, while staying current with Microsoft updates and delivering high-quality documentation.

Qualifications

• 4+ years hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and/or Azure Synapse in production.
• Strong Power BI, DAX, semantic modeling, and row-level security (RLS).
• Advanced SQL and Python / PySpark for notebook development.
• Experience integrating Dynamics 365 F&S or Dataverse with analytics platforms.
• Git and Azure DevOps for version control and deployments.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

We are hiring a Microsoft BI (Fabric) Engineer to join our Report Practice. In this role, you will design and build modern analytics solutions on Microsoft Fabric and Power BI for our clients, covering Lakehouses, Warehouses, semantic models, pipelines, notebooks, and AI-enabled experiences. This is a client-facing consulting role: you will run workshops, lead requirements gathering, and present to senior stakeholders. We are looking for someone who already works in an AI-forward way, using modern AI tools to deliver faster rather than just talking about them.

Duties / Responsibilities

• Design and build Microsoft Fabric and Azure Synapse solutions (Lakehouses, Warehouses, Pipelines, Notebooks, and semantic models) using a medallion architecture.
• Develop Power BI semantic models and reports with strong DAX, performance tuning, and row-level security (RLS).
• Integrate Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management and Dataverse data into Fabric- or Synapse-based analytics environments.
• Author SQL, Python, and PySpark code for notebook development and data transformation.
• Build and maintain pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Synapse / Fabric Pipelines.
• Manage source control, branching, and deployment using Git and Azure DevOps.
• Run client-facing workshops, design sessions, and status calls; translate business requirements into solutions and present to senior stakeholders.
• Build AI-enabled experiences on top of client data and use modern AI tools to speed up your own delivery.
• Write clean documentation and conduct knowledge transfers for clients and team members.
• Additionally, this role will assist in pre-sales/marketing activities including but not limited to producing written content, short videos, webinars, discovery calls, and in-person presentations.
• Stay current with Microsoft updates, new features, and best practices.

Required Skills / Abilities

• 4+ years hands-on with Microsoft Fabric and/or Azure Synapse (Lakehouses, Warehouses, Pipelines, Notebooks, semantic models), including at least one solution you took to production and can speak about in detail.
• Strong Power BI: DAX, semantic modeling, performance tuning, and row-level security (RLS).
• Advanced SQL and Python / PySpark for notebook development.
• Medallion architecture experience (Bronze / Silver / Gold).
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&SCM or Dataverse integration experience, or willingness to ramp up quickly.
• Azure Data Factory / Synapse Pipelines.
• Git / Azure DevOps for source control and deployment.
• Client-facing consulting experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• You’ve built something real with AI and can show it. A working agent, a copilot-style assistant, or an automation that saved you or a client in real time. We care about what you shipped and the thinking behind it more than which tool you used.
• Microsoft AI stack experience is a plus. If you built it with something else, bring it and be ready to walk us through how and why.
• Able to discuss experience with a Microsoft Fabric solution all the way to production, the kind where you handled source control and releases, kept performance and cost in check, and handled real Microsoft Dynamics 365 data.
• Current certification a plus, or the ability to obtain after joining within 90 days of employment: DP-600, DP-700. Other preferred certifications include but not limited to: PL-300, AB-900, AZ-104, AZ-305.
• Domain experience in manufacturing, energy, financial services, or retail.

Physical Requirements

• Must have the ability to work from a home office and follow work-from-home best practices.
• Travel requirements up to 25% for clients, and company on-site work, retreats or workshops.
