Regeneron is seeking a Senior Principal Scientist of Microscopy to lead the Microscopy function within Imaging Sciences at the Tarrytown site. The role requires PhD-level expertise, 5+ years in microscopy leadership, and a track record of growing a microscopy core facility.

You will drive technology adoption, mentor scientists, and build an integrated imaging strategy spanning automation, AI analytics, and translational imaging across Regeneron programs.

Qualifications

  • PhD in a biology-related field with strong microscopy focus.
  • Minimum 5 years postdoc/industry experience in microscopy leadership.
  • Proven track record in microscopy-driven research and publications.

Responsibilities

  • Define scientific direction for microscopy and cellular imaging across Regeneron Research.
  • Identify and adopt emerging microscopy tech based on value, performance, and portfolio need.
  • Translate biological questions into fit-for-purpose imaging strategies and readouts.
  • Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary microscopy team with a culture of rigor and collaboration.
  • Oversee annual strategic, operational, and capital plans for the microscopy function.
  • Establish governance, workflows, and service models to improve quality and turnaround time.
  • Provide leadership across advanced optical, super-resolution, spectral, and 3D imaging approaches.
  • Guide experiment design, data analysis, and ML-enabled imaging methods.
  • Develop scalable imaging infrastructure including automation and cloud analytics.
  • Integrate microscopy with molecular imaging and spatial biology platforms.
  • Partner with discovery, translational, and technology teams to inform biomarker programs.
