Job summary

Alcami Corporation is seeking a Scientist I (Microbiology) to perform complex microbial analyses and sterility-related testing for Alcami and external clients. You will work in a fast-paced on-site lab, applying aseptic techniques, microbial identifications, endotoxin testing, and method development.

The role includes strict GMP adherence, ERP/LIMS usage, and potential involvement in investigations. On-site, 1st shift (Mon-Fri, 7:00am–3:30pm), with travel up to 5%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years related experience or Associates with 6+ years related experience required.
• Experience with sterility testing using isolators is preferred.
• Experience with microbial genetic identification is a plus.
• Familiarity with GMP regulations and laboratory safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates strict aseptic technique in sample handling and testing.
• Performs microbiological testing of raw materials, in-process and finished products.
• Isolates and cultures bacteria or microorganisms in prescribed media.
• Uses microscope to identify and classify microorganisms.
• Manages incubation, plate reading and reporting of results; completes GMP reviews.
• Maintains instrumentation and ELN/LIMS familiarity; documents testing results.
• Tracks project progress in ERP and chain-of-command systems; participates in training.
• Reviews procedures; ensures compliance with cGMP and training requirements.
• Assists in laboratory safety, inventory, waste disposal and cleanup.
