Alcami is seeking a Scientist I (Microbiology) to perform complex microbial analysis supporting a sterile manufacturing facility and external clients. Experience with isolators, MicroSeq, and kinetic endotoxin testing is highly valued.

The role emphasizes aseptic technique, data integrity, and adherence to cGMP with on-site responsibilities and a 1st shift schedule. Travel is minimal and ongoing professional development is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology or similar field with 2+ years related experience.
• Or Associates degree in Biology or related field with 6+ years related experience.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates strict aseptic technique in sample handling and testing.
• Performs microbiological testing of raw material, in-process and finished product samples.
• Isolates and cultures bacteria or other microorganisms in prescribed media.
• Examines physiological, morphological, and cultural characteristics to identify microorganisms.
• Manages incubation, plate reading and reporting of results.
• Maintains knowledge of instrumentation and methodologies.
• Uses ELN to document testing and results.
• Uses ERP and workflow tracking systems for samples.
• Participates in training and maintains certifications.
• Reviews and revises procedures.
• Ensures compliance with cGMP and training requirements.
• Assists in laboratory safety and cleanliness.
• Ensures testing documentation completeness.
