Sonic Healthcare USA is hiring a Microbiology Processing Laboratory Assistant for the third shift in Austin, TX. The role supports patient care by performing moderate to high complexity microbiology testing in a fast-paced lab.

Minimum qualifications include an associate’s degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology, 1 year of lab training or experience with high complexity testing, and ASCP certification or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in lab science or MLT from an accredited program.
• At least 1 year of training or experience performing high complexity testing.
• ASCP certification or equivalent is preferred.
• Strong reading, writing and analytical abilities are required.
• Ability to operate general lab equipment (analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, pipettes).

Responsibilities

• Perform a vital part of patient care through moderate/high complexity testing.
• Identify when corrective action is needed and implement it.
• Work in a fast-paced lab with biological and chemical hazards while ensuring safety and quality.
