Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Microbiology or related field with equivalent microbiology graduate-level coursework.
• Experience in the procedures of a teaching/learning laboratory setting.
• Ph.D in Microbiology is preferred.
• State Driver’s License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).

Responsibilities

• Teaches assigned courses as scheduled and oversees curriculum with departmental policies.
• Designs curriculum to foster talent and employs inclusive teaching strategies.
• Considers individual differences of students for learning activities.
• Uses technology to support courses and communicates expectations clearly to students.
• Maintains attendance and grade records according to college policies.
• Creates accurate syllabi and selects appropriate instructional materials.
• Employs assessment techniques to measure student performance.
• Be a facilitator of learning in a virtual environment.
• Advises students about programs, careers, or transfers.
• Promotes a positive classroom atmosphere and community among students.
