Job summary

LabCorp is seeking a Technologist to join our team in Florida, with a schedule of Wednesday to Saturday and alternating Sundays from 1 AM to 11:30 AM. The role focuses on evaluating specimens, performing routine and complex procedures, and ensuring instrument performance to deliver accurate patient results.

The minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science and a Florida MT license, with preferred candidates having 3+ months of lab testing experience and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
• Microbiology MT FL License
• ASCP or AMT certification
• Color vision test required
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
