Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Lab Professional to join our team at Ascension Providence in Waco, TX. You will perform essential testing and maintain quality controls in a high-volume clinical lab setting.

Shift 5:30am–2:00pm on weekdays with rotating weekends. Minimum qualifications include an associate degree in a chemical or biological science, and preferred ASCP/AMT certification with 1+ year of lab testing experience. You will work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.
• 1+ year of clinical laboratory testing experience (preferred).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems.
• Proficient with computers.
• High attention to detail with strong communication and organizational skills.
• Able to pass a color blindness test.
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.
