Allina Health is hiring a Medical Lab Technician to support the Central Lab at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. The role includes 8-hour day/night shifts, a 40-hour week, and a 3rd weekend rotation, working within a not-for-profit health system serving Minnesota and western Wisconsin.

Responsibilities include routine and some complex lab testing, phlebotomy, specimen processing, and student training.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Vocational degree in a related laboratory field with clinical rotations or equivalent routes.
• ASCP or AMT lab certification preferred; if not certified, obtain within 180 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and some complex laboratory procedures.
• Follows all federal regulations including CAP, OSHA, COLA, CLIA, and HIPAA.
• Customer service and patient order management.
• Evaluates and manages patient orders for completeness and follows up as needed.
• Collection and processing of specimens following standardized system protocols.
• Participates in the training of employees and students.
