Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Lab Tech Assistant in the Microbiology department at the Lima Medical Office Building. You will prepare specimens, register orders, and perform pre-analytical and analytical tasks including phlebotomy and specimen collection.

Responsibilities include inventory management, waivered testing, and slide prep, with duties expanding to support technologists and ensure specimen integrity in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Associates degree in Biology or Chemistry preferred.
• Laboratory experience is optional but beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and provide courteous service.
• Collect blood specimens and transport to lab.
• Assist technologists with instruments and reagents.
• Identify instrument issues and inform staff as needed.
• Perform clerical duties such as inventory checks and calls.
• Troubleshoot problems and perform other duties as assigned.
