Job summary

Hartford HealthCare is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist at Hartford Hospital to perform, interpret and correlate routine and specialized lab tests in support of patient diagnoses. This role requires interpreting results, maintaining instrument performance and following strict safety and quality protocols.

Qualified candidates hold a biology/chemistry-focused bachelor’s degree and ASCP certification, with strong communication and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college/university with 16 semester hours in biology including one in microbiology and 16 semester hours in chemistry including one in organic or biochemistry.
• ASCP or equivalent categorical/generalist certification (within 90 days of employment)
• Ability to adopt H3W Leadership behaviors and become a strong H3W ambassador
• Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal, written and listening) skills and good leadership abilities.
• Ability to comply with OSHA and applicable regulatory requirements by following established procedures in order to maintain a safe laboratory environment and to meet accreditation standards.

Responsibilities

• Performs, interprets and correlates clinical laboratory tests by following protocols to assist in the physician diagnosis and treatment of illness and disease.
• Expected to utilize complex problem-solving skills in resolving clinical and instrument problems.
