Job summary

Atrium Health, a leading hospital system in Charlotte, NC, seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform medium to high complexity microbiology testing with a strong emphasis on quality and accuracy. You will ensure specimen integrity, document results in the EMR, and participate in QC and compliance.

The role requires MLS/ASCP certification (or M(ASCP) pathway) within one year and a BS in Biology or Chemistry, with candidate preference for microbiology experience and training

Qualifications

• MLS/ASCP certification within 1 year of onboarding.
• B.S. in Biology or Chemistry required/acceptable.
• Experience in microbiology and quality control preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform medium to high complexity Microbiology tests per SOPs.
• Ensure specimen integrity and accurate EMR reporting.
• Perform QC to verify acceptability of microbiological materials.
• Maintain documentation and competency; participate in training.
• Adhere to PPE and safety protocols; participate in process improvements.
