Job summary

Phoebe Putney Health System in Americus, GA is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to oversee a designated department in the Lab, including personnel, procedures, instrumentation and regulatory compliance under the direction of the Laboratory Director/Manager.

You will orient and train employees, assist with budgeting and ensure testing meets established standards. The supervisor may delegate tasks to a capable MLT and may temporarily act as the designated person in charge.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in medical technology.
• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology.
• Preferred: three or more years’ clinical laboratory technical experience with some supervisory experience.
• Licenses/certifications ASCP, AMT or AAB or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision of a designated department within the Lab.
• Trains all technologists and technicians to the essential needs of the department.
• Oversees calibrations and maintenance of instruments.
• Assures that tests are conducted within established standards.
• Produces accurate and timely laboratory information.
• Acts as charge person in the absence of a lab manager.
