Job summary

The J.M. Smucker Company invites you to join its Microbiology Lab as an intern in Orrville, OH. You will perform routine microbiological testing on finished goods and environmental samples, provide lab support, and manage a personal project culminating in a final presentation.

You'll gain hands-on experience, develop professional skills, and participate in ISO-related activities while contributing to ongoing lab projects during the internship term.

Qualifications

• Sophomore to Senior in Microbiology/Biology/Food Science or related field.
• Strong time-management, communication and teamwork skills; solid chemistry & mathematics background.
• General laboratory experience with aseptic techniques.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine microbiological testing on finished goods and environmental samples
• Support Laboratory projects
• Conduct microbiological reporting within Smucker databases
• Provide general laboratory upkeep
• Manage an individual Micro project requiring a presentation at the end of the internship
• Support ISO certification
