Job summary

AMVAC U.S. is seeking a Fermentation Engineer to lead process development for microbial fermentation at their Clackamas plant. This role focuses on troubleshooting commercial manufacturing issues and validating scale-up processes for high-quality products.

Key responsibilities include operating fermentation vessels, analyzing fermentation data, updating SOPs with the Quality Management team, and training production staff. Candidates should hold a BS/BA in biochemical engineering or a related discipline and have experience in microbiology and process development.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year industry experience in related disciplines is required.
  • Experience with fermentation of microbes (yeast, bacteria, fungi) at commercial scale is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Operating and maintaining fermentation vessels of various scales.
  • Measuring and blending ingredients for fermentation.
  • Analyzing data and maintaining records of fermentation parameters.
  • Collaborating with the Quality Management team to update SOPs.
  • Ensuring safety by identifying and eliminating hazards.
  • Providing technical support for technology transfer activities.
  • Training production personnel on equipment operation.
