Job summary

Mars is hiring a Sanitation Technician for our United States factory. You will clean and sanitize equipment and locations, following a strict sanitation schedule and safety protocols.

This role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, working at heights, and operating in confined spaces. Certifications such as forklift and LOTO are required or can be completed after hire.

Qualifications

• Stand/walk for extended periods, climb stairs/ladders, lift up to 50 lbs.
• Adapt to extreme temperatures and environmental conditions (hot/cold, dust, chemicals).
• Good communication skills.
• Knowledge of Safety, Quality and Material Management Systems and procedures.
• Adapt to sudden sanitation needs (spills, micro events, downtime).
• Forklift and JLG Lift Certifications are required or can be completed after hire.
• Confined Space Entry and Working at Heights certifications are required or can be completed after hire.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize equipment and locations throughout the factory.
• Follow a sanitation task schedule and adapt to changing conditions.
• Complete permits during specialized work.
• Perform lockout-tagout and operate in safe environments.
• Work at heights and in confined spaces following safety protocols.
• Ensure product quality and food safety during sanitation activities.

Job Description

The Sanitation Technician is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing equipment and locations throughout the factory. These duties will at times include Locking out equipment, being at heights, and working in confined spaces. The technician will need to follow a schedule of sanitation tasks while being flexible to a changing environment and completing permits as necessary during specialized work.

This role as all roles requires performing in a safe manner while ensuring the Quality and Food Safety of the product.

Shift: 6AM -2:30PM

What are we looking for?

Minimum Qualifications

• Able to stand and walk for extended time periods, climb stairs and ladders, work at elevated locations, and lift up to 50 pounds.


• Must be able to adapt to temperature and environmental extremes from hot to cold, dust, dirt and chemicals


• Good communication skills


• Working knowledge of Safety, Quality and Material Management Systems and procedures


• Able to adapt to sudden sanitation needs (spills, micro events, unplanned downtime, etc...)


• Forklift and JLG Lift Certified Certification is a requirement of the role but can be completed after being awarded the position


• Confined Space Entry and Working at Heights certified Certification is a requirement of the role but can be completed after being awarded the position

Preferred Qualifications

• Problem solving skills


• Experience with Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) of equipment


• Knowledge of Food Manufacturing Sanitation
