Job summary

Mars is seeking a Sanitation Technician at our Wisconsin plant to clean and sanitize equipment and locations, follow sanitation schedules, and perform lockouts and permits as needed. The role requires adapting to temperature and environmental extremes while maintaining safety and food quality.

Shifts are 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. You will handle lifting up to 50 pounds, work at heights, and pursue forklift and JLG lift certifications. Emphasis on safety, quality, and the Mars Five Principles.

Qualifications

• Stand/walk for extended periods, climb stairs/ladders, lift up to 50 lb
• Must adapt to hot/cold, dust, chemicals
• Good communication skills
• Familiar with Safety, Quality and Material Management Systems
• Adapt to sudden sanitation needs (spills, micro events, downtime)
• Forklift and JLG Lift Certification required or obtained after hire
• Confined Space Entry and Working at Heights certified or obtained after hire

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize equipment and locations per schedule
• Lockout/tagout and permit execution during specialized work
• Work safely to ensure food safety and product quality
• Operate in environments with temperature and physical hazards
• Support sanitation needs during unplanned events as required

Job Description:

The Sanitation Technician is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing equipment and locations throughout the factory. These duties will at times include Locking out equipment, being at heights, and working in confined spaces. The technician will need to follow a schedule of sanitation tasks while being flexible to a changing environment and completing permits as necessary during specialized work.

This role as all roles requires performing in a safe manner while ensuring the Quality and Food Safety of the product.

Shift: 6AM -2:30PM

What are we looking for?

Minimum Qualifications:

• Able to stand and walk for extended time periods, climb stairs and ladders, work at elevated locations, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to adapt to temperature and environmental extremes from hot to cold, dust, dirt and chemicals
• Good communication skills
• Working knowledge of Safety, Quality and Material Management Systems and procedures
• Able to adapt to sudden sanitation needs (spills, micro events, unplanned downtime, etc…)
• Forklift and JLG Lift Certified

Preferred Qualifications:

• Problem solving skills
• Experience with Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) of equipment
• Knowledge of Food Manufacturing Sanitation
