Job summary

Jost International in Grand Haven, MI is seeking a Forklift Operator to move materials in warehouse and production areas using a forklift. You will load/unload trucks, place finished products, and rotate Kan-Ban materials to ensure oldest stock is used first.

You will perform daily forklift pre-shift checks and maintain proper labeling of moved materials, while adhering to company quality procedures. Physical duties include lifting up to 51 pounds as needed.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of forklift operation and material handling.
• Ability to gain Training Certification/Operator Permit for forklift as defined by company standards.
• Basic math skills as defined by company standards.
• Ability to read and write legibly as defined by company standards.
• Understanding of Basic Processes.
• Ability to gain knowledge of company products and company quality procedures.
• Regularly sit, stand, walk, see, hear, reach, bend, twist, push, pull and occasionally stoop, kneel, lift or move objects 51 pounds or less with or without assistance.

INTRODUCTION: This position reports to the Supervisor of the area they are working in. (i.e, Assembly, Welding, Shipping, etc). It is solely accountable for the fulfillment of all assigned duties and has authority delegated commensurate with assigned responsibilities.

FORKLIFT OPERATOR

Performs functions pertaining to the movement of material in the warehouse/production areas and placement of materials/inventory with means of a forklift.
