Job Description

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Practice safety rules.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Use hand & power tools safely.
  • Report to and assist your immediate supervisor.
  • Perform quality work as per project specifications.
  • Be accountable for all tools and materials at the end of your shift.
  • Work well as part of a team.
  • Able to perform terminations up to 1500V AC and DC.
  • Read construction drawings and understand construction specifications.
  • Have a basic understanding of electrical systems.
  • Install underground cabling and conduits.
  • Operate basic electrical test equipment.
  • Work with, train, and mentor helpers.
  • Undergo post-offer drug/alcohol screening and physical evaluation.
  • Complete the New Hire Quiz.
  • Ensure no direct threat to health or safety to yourself or others.
  • Follow job site safety requirements (e.g., wear steel toe boots, be clean shaven, etc.).
  • Use safety equipment as required (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness, etc.).
  • Comply with company’s drug and alcohol policy.
  • Pass physical examinations as required.
  • Able to climb ladders, scaffolding, and maintain balance.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Carry up to 50 lbs. of tools/materials, seek assistance for heavier loads.
  • Stand or walk for long periods on uneven surfaces.
  • Work extended hours while wearing PPE as needed.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Michigan Apprentice Electrician Certified License.
