Job summary

Lincoln Premium Poultry is seeking an experienced MHE Maintenance Technician to diagnose, service, and repair material handling equipment. The role focuses on adhering to safety and quality standards within a food processing environment.

You will work with a team to maintain equipment reliability, comply with HACCP/SSOP/GMP programs, and support continuous improvement initiatives while operating in a fast-paced plant setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years’ work experience in the MHE maintenance field.
• Knowledge of food safety programs, including HACCP, SSOPs and GMPs.
• Proficient communication in written and spoken English.
• Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in repair of MHE.
• Ability to operate diagnostic equipment and vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Performs repairs and maintains MHE using proper tools and equipment.
• Follows Technical Manual procedures for maintenance and repairs.
• Keeps Asset Management Facilities & Grounds Manager informed as needed.
• Maintains contact with internal customers about work performed.
• Participates in training programs to advance skills.
• Keeps knowledge of LPP owned MHE up to date.
• Maintains tools and equipment in good working order.
• Keeps a clean, organized work area and follows safety rules.
• Completes reports and forms related to work assignments.
• Attends meetings and training as required.
• Communicates with HR and other departments to resolve issues.

JOB SUMMARY

The MHE Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance work on MHE (Material Handling Equipment.

DAILY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs repairs and maintains using proper tools, techniques, and equipment for the machines that the technician specializes in.
• Follows Technical Manual procedures when conducting maintenance and repairs on equipment of the Technician’s specialty.
• Seek directions and guidance from the Asset Management Facilities & Grounds Manager as necessary.
• Maintains contact with internal customers about work performed on equipment as necessary.
• Participates in training programs that are required for advancing work-related skills and knowledge.
• Maintains current knowledge of LPP owned MHE.
• Maintains vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment in good working order.
• Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion.
• Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
• Complete all reports, work documentation and forms required in conjunction with work assignments.
• Attend meetings and training as required.
• Effectively communicate with HR and other supporting departments if conflict or dilemmas arise with employees in your charge.
• All other duties not listed but requested by Maintenance Management, Senior Leadership, and Human Resources.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:

• Must possess a minimum of five years’ work experience in the MHE Maintenance field.
• Must have knowledge of food safety programs, including HACCP programs, SSOP’s and GMP’s.
• Must possess skills in communicating in a courteous and professional manner, both verbally and in writing to all team members.
• Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of LPP MHE.
• Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal customers, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
• Ability to use job-related computer applications and basic computer functions.
• Must have exceptional time management and prioritizing skills.
• Must know how to effectively utilize a personal computer and a variety of software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Must be able to pass required physical including demonstrating your ability to lift the required weight for each position.
• Ability to stand or walk for an entire 8-hour shift.
• Ability to reflect the values of our company in public settings.
• Ability to work flexible hours as needed.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Experience in poultry or other food processing plants is highly preferred but not required.
• Higher education in maintenance, electrical, hydraulics, or related field is preferred, however experience in lieu of degree will always be considered.
