Lincoln Premium Poultry in Fremont, NE is seeking a Hatchery Maintenance Technician to maintain, repair, construct and modify industrial hatchery machinery, including electrical components. The role reports to the Hatchery Maintenance Supervisor and is non-exempt.

You will monitor equipment, use hand and power tools, read blueprints, review work orders, assist with installation of new equipment, train peers, and pursue safety and cost-improvement goals in a refrigerated environment of 45–50°F.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Experience using hand and power tools and reading blueprints.
  • Proficient with tape measures; basic electrical knowledge.
  • Basic math skills; comfortable with computers (Excel/Word/Outlook).
  • Ability to work in refrigerated environments (45–50°F).
  • Strong communication and safety awareness in a team setting.

Responsibilities

JOB TITLE: Hatchery Maintenance Technician DATE: 9/2026

REPORTS TO: Hatchery Maintenance Supervisor STATUS: Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the maintenance, repair, construction, and modification of industrial machinery, including electrical components, throughout the hatchery. Assists supervisor in overseeing hatchery maintenance.

DAILY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Monitor hatchery production areas to ensure proper functioning of assigned equipment and intervene for repairs as necessary.
  • Utilize all manner of hand and power tools to diagnose, adjust, maintain, and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Review work orders to ensure accuracy and maintain documentation of work performed.
  • Assist with installation of new equipment or modify existing equipment as required.
  • Provide training to peers as requested or needed by maintenance lead, supervisor, or training department.
  • Make suggestions for correctible measures when downtime results from mechanical or technical defects.
  • Attend maintenance meetings and trainings as required.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and give feedback to supervisor about cost reduction, quality improvement and yield control.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION
  • MUST have a minimum of 6 months industrial maintenance experience.
  • MUST be comfortable and experienced utilizing hand and power tools of all varieties.
  • MUST know how to accurately use and read a tape measure as well as industrial blueprints.
  • MUST have basic knowledge and safety understanding of electrical components.
  • MUST have knowledgeofbasic math, including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and calculating percentages.
  • Skill in using a personal computerand various software applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to work in a refrigerated environment ranging from 45-50 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Ability to communicate in acourteous and professionalmanner with all plant employees, as well as third party vendors and contractors.
  • Ability to operate a forklift, scissors lift, or any other powered equipment or machinery as needed.
  • Ability to work with a group of technicians or autonomously with limited supervision.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • MUST be able to pass required physical including demonstrating your ability to lift the required weight for each position.
  • MUST be able to stand and/or walk for entire 8-hour shift.
  • MUST wear correct job specific PPE as designated by company policy.
  • Ability to consistently practice and enforce safe working habits.
  • Ability to recognize safety risks and comply with all safety standards.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Associate’s degree or higher in Mechatronics, Electrical, Welding or similar fields preferred.
  • Previous experience working with VFD’s (Variable Frequency Drive) or robotics is preferred.
  • Welding experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of water/boiler systems is preferred.

This position requires that you cannot own or have any contact with animals with feathers, other than those owned by Lincoln Premium Poultry, during your employment with LPP.
