Join Our Mission

At Kings View, every role contributes to something bigger — improving lives and strengthening communities. We are committed to providing behavioral health and social services to those with limited resources, guided by compassion, excellence, and respect.

Position Overview:

Kings View is seeking a licensed Clinician II to join our 24/7 Mobile Crisis Response Team serving Kings County. The clinician responds to community-based mental health and substance use crises, provides crisis triage, risk assessment, stabilization, psychoeducation, case management, and referrals, and helps individuals remain safely in their communities. This position reports to the Clinical Supervisor and provides clinical guidance to mobile team members without formal supervisory responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to community crisis calls throughout Kings County and provide timely, on-site interventions for adults, youth, and families.
  • Conduct brief mental health and risk assessments, evaluate symptoms, and make clinical judgments concerning possible 5150/5585 placements and safety planning.
  • Use de-escalation and stabilization techniques, coordinate with first responders when needed, and support diversion from unnecessary hospitalization or incarceration.
  • Provide psychoeducation, case management, referrals, aftercare, and follow-up linkage within 72 hours.
  • Offer clinical guidance to mobile team members and collaborate with multidisciplinary providers, community agencies, and medical partners.
  • Provide consultation and training support to law enforcement, including ride-alongs and crisis intervention training activities.
  • Complete accurate, timely electronic clinical documentation and required payer enrollment forms and reports in accordance with program and confidentiality standards.
  • Participate in rotational on-call coverage and respond to urgent safety concerns in accordance with agency procedures.

What You’ll Bring:

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field.
  • Current, unrestricted California clinical license in good standing as an LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC.
  • Three years of experience providing crisis services or mental health services to individuals with serious mental illness or co-occurring conditions.
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI) number, or ability to obtain one before the start date.
  • Valid California Class C driver’s license and acceptable driving record for travel to community sites and client homes.

Required Skills:

  • Strong independent clinical judgment, crisis intervention, risk assessment, and safety-planning skills.
  • Ability to rapidly establish rapport, assess danger to self or others and grave disability, and distinguish psychiatric from substance-related emergencies.
  • Knowledge of community and hospital resources, electronic health records, and common office applications.
  • Clear communication, timely documentation, and effective multidisciplinary collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Clinical experience addressing substance use disorders.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.

Compassionate, dependable, adaptable, culturally responsive, and able to remain composed and exercise sound judgment during stressful situations.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Must maintain required professional licensure, NPI, driving eligibility, and any applicable program clearances or screenings.

Work Environment:

Work occurs in clinical and community settings, including client homes, shelters, and other locations with varying safety and environmental conditions. The role involves travel, contact with individuals experiencing acute behavioral health crises, and rotational on-call responsibilities.
