Job summary

Kenco Logistics is seeking a Transportation Account Manager to foster strong relationships with external customers and manage daily operations with shippers and carriers. The role focuses on reducing customer costs while increasing Kenco’s revenue and margin through proactive planning and service excellence.

You will guide a team, oversee load planning, tendering, safety, and customer service within contractual guidelines, and prepare performance reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Accounting or Finance or equivalent transportation management work experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of applicable experience within transportation management services (i.e. load planning, carrier management or customer service).
  • Strong PC skills and proficient with all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communications and analytical skills with proven ability to follow up on issues.
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing business environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide work direction to team members assigned to the account and facilitate professional development of team members to improve bench strength.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for dedicated transportation management customers; fostering relationships that are mutually beneficial for both our customers and Kenco that result in increased revenue and margin for Transportation Management.
  • Oversee management of inbound/outbound load planning, shipment tendering, safety and overall customer service functions, ensuring the customers freight handled within our contractual guidelines, proper security measures for high value goods.
  • Prepare routine reports for customers outlining carrier’s performance and shipment activity; utilize data to look for opportunities to improve services provided.
  • Maintain fluid communications with internal and external stakeholders regarding established performance metrics and provide insight as needed; ensuring alignment with strategic directives.
  • Actively manage applicable budgetary items; including but not limited to, freight claims with carriers, payment of freight invoices and accurate reconciliation of P&L.
