Jobbeschreibung

Plans, organize, direct, control and implement the quality assurance activities associated with the airworthiness directive process, FAA and industry affairs and to act as a focal point for all matters dealing with the federal aviation administration including all matters dealing with airworthiness directives for a fleet of approximately 350 large jet aircraft.

Essential Functions

• Supports corporate objectives for legal fitness and safety of FedEx Express aircraft.
• Coordinates activities and interface with FAA officials, authorize ferry flights, establish and maintain the FedEx aircraft weight and balance system.
• Provides A.D management and control, monitor maintenance programs and general maintenance practices, and maintain the required general maintenance manual system.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree in aeronautical engineering or bachelor’s degree/equivalent in aviation management or aviation technology. A&P licenses required for ad control management. Project/program management & data analysis experience required for CASS and/or audit manager functions.

Minimum Experience

Seven (7) years related experience in regulatory compliance & quality assurance or engineering & quality assurance, three (3) years of which must include exp in regulatory & FAA affairs including investigations & legal proceedings or four (4) years of which must include exp in aircraft certification requirements & continued air-worthiness for FAR part 121 operations. Experience in negotiating with government agencies, interpreting federal aviation regulations, orders, airworthiness directives, work instruction cards, engineering orders & other FAA related documents.

Preferred Qualifications

Position requires ongoing FAA engagement to ensure fleet safety, compliance & airworthiness. Reporting to the MD of QA and serving as Agent of Service (119.49). Responsibilities for managing our OpSpec, upholding CFRs, VDR submissions and timely FAA responses.
